CarUpdater 3

Please read this important information

Why the change?

fuel saver logoWith the changes required as from April 72008 for the Government Fuel Saver star rating information we are upgrading all CarUpdater 2 users to CarUpdater 3. CarUpdater 3 has the ability to add and display the information

The information to be shown is:
- A star rating out of 6 stars (originally this will be a number but may be more graphical in days to come)
- A rating of litres per 100km
- A $ price to run the car for a year based on 14000 km a year and base d on current fuel cots.

What do I have to do?

For most users this will mean your used car information will be imported directly from Auto base (Trade me) so you will no longer use CarUpdater2 to upload cars however it may be used to display cars on your site.

What is crucial is that you add a VIN and preferably a Rego plate number when uploading cars to Auto Base (Trade me)

Auto Base have an interface with the government information on fuel ratings which will only work if they have this information. No Vin - No Fuel rating info - Not advisable.

I don't use Trade me I use Autotrader what should I do?

We have been working with Autotrader to provide the same seamless service and Autotrader have assured us that all will be working by April 7.
If you are unsure please contact Autotrader here >

I use CarUpdater 3 only and not Trade me what do I do ?

Many dealers ONLY use CarUpdater 3.
All you need to do is add fuel rating info to your existing cars.
Next time you log in to CarUpdater 3 you will see a new panel where you can easily add the information either from the link to the Govt site of from the cards you will already be displaying in your car's window.
